Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie denies jabbing Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has denied claims jabbing Nigerian superstars Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, as he describes them as “amazing artists.”

The dispute began with Sarkodie’s most recent hit, “Brag,” in which he proudly highlighted his seniority in the music industry, causing a heated debate online.

The controversial music was released on Friday, May 10, and drew the attention of Nigerians because Sarkodie openly boasts about his exploits and proclaims his dominance in the African music scene.

In a bold move, he claimed credit for setting the standard that others have followed.

The song’s release sparked a brief exchange of diss recordings between Dremo, a former Davido signee, and Lyrical Joe, a Sarkodie signee.

However, Sarkodie has since addressed the problem by saying he never jabbed his colleagues during an interview with RODE.

He stated:

Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido would never think I want to jab them because if I want to jab somebody, it has to be rappers. They are not rappers.

“I am just talking to rappers about how long I’ve been there and who else is best to use as reverence? Everybody knows Wizkid, Burna Boy, Black Sheriff, Asake and Davido. And I was indeed in the industry before they all came in. It’s just references to how long I’ve been there. It’s not throwing jabs at anybody. These are incredible, amazing artists.”
